Religion and ethics

NSW schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics. Approved providers deliver these, where available.

Write to the school if you wish to withdraw your child from special religious education, sometimes known as scripture. Special education in ethics is an option for your primary-age child if you withdraw them from special religious education. For more information, visit Religion and ethics.

At Tweed River High School special religious education (SRE) lessons are provided by the Tweed Coast Christian Education Association, accredited with Australian Christian Churches, as the organisation approved to provide Special Religious Education. The curriculum studied during SRE lessons at Tweed River High School can be found on the Why SRE Website: http://www.whysre.com.au/images/files/Think_Faith_Scope_And_Sequence.pdf

Students who do not attend special religious education will be given meaningful activities such as reading, private study and completing homework under the supervision of their usual classroom teacher.

Students will continue to be enrolled in the same arrangement as the previous year, unless a parent/caregiver has requested a change in writing to the school. Tweed River High School special religious education (SRE) lessons are provided by the Tweed Coast Christian Education Association, accredited with Australian Christian Churches, as the organisation approved to provide Special Religious Education.
