Our Principal Donna and her caring staff greet students personally every morning, creating a welcoming environment. With our understanding of high school students, we build strong relationships with them and value their voices. When students asked for footy shorts and hoodies, we listened, collaborated with them, and proudly made these items part of the uniform, showing that students shape our school community.

Choosing a high school is one of the biggest decisions a family makes. You want to know your child will be supported, challenged, and set up for whatever comes next, whether that's university, a trade, a creative career, or something they haven't discovered yet.

Tweed River High School was built for exactly that. We're the only school in Northern NSW who offers a Vocational High Schools Program from within the school; with purpose-built facilities you won't find at any other school. But more than that, we're a school that knows its students. Our staff build real relationships. Our leadership staff are at the gate every morning. When students have ideas about how the school should work, we listen.

Principal's message

High school is a big step. We know that as a parent, you want to feel confident your child is walking into a place where they'll be known, supported, and set up to succeed.

That's what we've built here at Tweed River High. Our staff meet students from our partner primary schools well before Year 7 so that when they arrive on their first day, they already know familiar faces. We invite new families into our school throughout the year so by the time the first high school bell goes, your child isn't walking into the unknown.

Once they're here, everything is designed around setting students up for a good day. Music plays through the school bell to set the tone. Students who wear their uniform well go in the draw for a daily raffle. Our canteen has breaky ready for those who need it. It sounds simple, but these things add up, and create a culture where students feel good about being at school.

And the opportunities speak for themselves. Students earning qualifications in our purpose-built VET facilities. Apprentices working with local employers while completing their HSC. Athletes training with professional coaches. Performers on stage. Academics preparing for university. Whatever your child is drawn to, there's a pathway here and a team of people who'll help them find it.
